Live at the Osaka Festival Hall

Great concert with a sound better than " Live Composin ".

Indipensible for the Paul Simon Fan.

Two CD live set by Paul Simon from 1974 in Osaka Japan. This great set is probably the best sounding artifact from that particular tour. On this tour Paul was in his 'churchy/exotic' mode, meaning he included the Jesse Dixon Singers and Urubamaba in his shows. The Dixon Singers are well suited for such gospelly tunes as "Sounds Of Silence", "Loves Me Like A Rock" and "Bridge Over Trouble Water", including Hammond organ, an instrument you won't hear at too many Paul Simon concerts. Urubamba, the South African group who played exotic instruments on some Simon/Garfunkel songs, are present for "Duncan" and "El Condor Pasa", just like they were on the original studio recordings. And of course Paul plays some of his songs solo on acoustic guitar like "American Tune". He also has some pretty funny interaction with the Japanese audience, who showered him with gifts. I'm not for sure, but I think this was Paul's first visit to Japan.
