US CONCERT 1984
(Hearts & Bones One Man Band Tour 1984 )
Live at the Poplar Creek Music Theater, Illinois, 1984. Entire concert, 24 songs
on 2 CDs. This was a solo tour Paul Simon did in support of his album "Hearts
& Bones". It's strictly him and his acoustic and electric guitars, which was a
dream come true for his fans who'd been wanting him to do something like that
for many years. These versions bring out the true essence of the songs, and show
off Paul's phenomenal guitar abilities very well. He worked up some unusual one-man-band
arrangements for songs such as "One Trick Pony", "Kodachrome", and others. This
is also a great opportunity to hear tunes he rarely does live like "Allergies",
"Rene & Georgette Magritte", "Kathy's Song", and "St. Judy's Comet". Then there's
the classics like "Bridge", "Slip Slidin' Away", and "The Sound Of Midas" which
is a parody of "Sound Of Silence". This is almost like a Vh-1 'Storytellers' before
it existed, because Paul often has some interesting history to relate about the
songs. Sound quality is excellent -
